Pineapple Pinturas works in Lisbon, Oeiras and Cascais on interior and exterior painting, façade restoration and waterproofing. It is led by Benjamin Collier, who follows every survey and every job.
Why we work this way
Paint is the last thing to decide
In Lisbon it is common to see the same wall painted several times in a few years. The paint was nearly always fine. What was never dealt with was the cause: water getting in at a cornice, salts rising through the wall, a film that will not let it breathe.
We work the other way round. First we find out what the wall has, with instruments and photographs. Then we explain, in plain language, what we propose and why. Only then do we talk about colours.
The rest is running the job so you do not have to think about it: protection, notices, cleaning, deadlines.

What we believe in
- The substrate decidesNo finish can correct the wrong substrate. The order is always stop the water, dry, clear, repair, and only then finish.
- A quote should be read onceShort, clear and with one recommendation. If it needs a second reading, the failure is ours.
- Fixed priceWhat is written is what you pay. Extra work only with written approval.
- Knowing when to say noWhen we cannot guarantee the result, we do not take the job and we explain why.
- Measure instead of guessingMoisture, cracks, adhesion: what can be measured is measured and recorded.
- Respect for other people's homesProtection, cleaning, hours kept and notices to the neighbours.

Benjamin Collier
Benjamin Collier leads Pineapple Pinturas. He carries out the surveys, writes the quotes and coordinates the crews on site. He speaks English and Portuguese.
